Dr. Hugh is a highly respected scientist. She owns and co-founded the Hugh-Bryss labs, a somewhat controversial but well-known laboratory that proudly advertises the diversity in the specialties of its employees as they're free to research what they choose, from medicine to behavioral science. She and her lab have been given a very generous grant by the government to research... something, and that has led to the doctor's discoveries regarding the creation of life and nature of the supernatural... All very classified, of course.

Dr. Hugh has two living examples of her success at creating artificial life, and yet, for some reason, they both hate her. How strange!
